To his surprise, 57% voted in favor of Musk stepping down from the CEO post.

Musk also has a lot of investor pressure to hand off the CEO post on Twitter to someone else sooner rather than later.

Here are some likely candidates that could be offered the top post on Twitter.

Former T-Mobile CEO John Legere, MIT artificial intelligence researcher Lex Fridman, and rapper Snoop Dogg

Tom Anderson, a founder of MySpace commented on the polls and seemed interested in the job.

However, the most obvious choices if the decision is left to Musk as these 3 individuals.

Jason Calacanis - He is an early-stage investor who invested in companies like Uber and Robinhood.  He has posted saying “Twitter CEO is my dream job.”

David Sacks - He along with Musk was among the original founding team at PayPal. He founded Yammer, before selling it to Microsoft in 2012 for $1.2 billion.

Sriram Krishnan - He probably is the very obvious choice as CEO since he has direct experience working on Twitter product features such as search and the home timeline.
